Avalon Salon & Spa is an Aveda Lifestyle salon using Leaping Bunny certified, 100% vegan Aveda products. We don’t claim to be a perfect green business — our biggest impact comes from one deliberate choice: we use Aveda exclusively. From there we recycle where we can and keep working to improve our energy efficiency. Here’s what that choice actually means.
Cruelty-free, and 100% vegan.
The Aveda products we use are Leaping Bunny approved by Cruelty-Free International — the products, raw materials, and ingredients aren’t tested on animals at any stage, suppliers and manufacturers are verified, and the certification is audited every twelve months. Aveda has opposed animal testing since it was founded in 1978, and since 2020 every Aveda formula has been 100% vegan — free of animal-derived ingredients and by-products like beeswax and honey. It’s why the hair color in our chairs is vegan and cruelty-free, too.

Aveda hair care is 90% naturally derived on average — from plants, non-petroleum minerals, and/or water.
That 90% figure is measured by the ISO standard. Aveda pairs modern science with Ayurveda and a botanical, green-chemistry approach that has been its foundation since 1978.

Aveda’s primary facility manufactures products using 100% wind and solar power, through renewable energy credits and carbon offsets — Aveda was the first beauty company to manufacture using 100% wind power. On packaging, Aveda pioneered 100% post-consumer recycled (PCR) material in PET bottles; today at least 85% of PET bottles and jars across hair styling and skincare contain 100% PCR, and the brand is working to eliminate virgin petroleum-based plastic wherever possible.
